Candidate Statement:
I have a three-fold vision for our profession; the volunteer work I have dedicated to the AAAOM and our profession during the past few years is based on that vision.  Firstly, I believe that it is our responsibility as leaders of the profession to ensure that graduates are able to find a viable job that sustains them after graduating.  A variety of job opportunities, outside starting a small business, will become increasingly available as AOM becomes further integrated into our state and national health care systems.  There are thousands of students graduating every year in our profession and they are eager to be involved.  The structure we have created within the Student Organization has enabled me to be in contact with hundreds of students on a weekly basis.  I have cultivated these grassroots effort and developed them into strategic relationships that will continue to grow and expand the Organization.  I want to continue playing an important role in helping the AAAOM focus on and implement jobs for our graduates…”

Candidate Statement: “The AAAOM was created to support the continued development and advancement of the profession of acupuncture and Oriental medicine. Included in this purpose is the moral and ethical obligation to protect the best interests of both the membership and the public by establishing a favorable legal and regulatory environment for the practice of this medicine, while encouraging adherence to high ethical and professional standards on the part of the licensed practitioner. If elected to the Board, I will continue to dedicate my expertise, energy and enthusiasm to support, protect, and advance the medicine as per our mission.

As a volunteer and leader, I have spent the past several years focused on understanding the complexities of the legal and regulatory landscapes both in New York and across the nation. I serve as the current president of the Acupuncture Society of New York (ASNY), the state professional association; a founding Director of the New York State Acupuncture Coalition (NYSAC), representing a coalition of AOM schools, organizations, practitioners, and students throughout the state;…”

Domestically, I have helped to bring in members to the AAAOM and lead the most ambitious fundraising drive in the history of the AAAOM.  This year my volunteer team has raised over $100,000. I am most proud to state that 100% of all funds…”
