Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Political Action Fund
Invest $1 a day to ensure the continuity of our political efforts: to protect, support and advance the choice, access and use of AOM in U.S. health care delivery. (AOMPAF)
In 2009, the AAAOM formed the AOMPAF to support a wide range of political activities aimed at further integrating acupuncture and Oriental medicine (AOM) into our health care delivery system:
- Continuous effort to increase scope of practice, add licensing to non-regulated states (SD, ND, KS, OK, AL, WY) and lobby on behalf of the profession at the state level
- Advocate on behalf of the profession to achieve federal recognition of Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine and prevent reimbursement discrimination by insurers and government programs
- Greater patient access and referrals to AOM practitioners
- Business and insurance reimbursement support
- Practice management tools and other marketing products to build your practice
- Discounts on products, CEUs, and the annual AAAOM conference
- Networking with other AOM colleagues
- Education / Communication Channels (The American Acupuncturist, Membership updates)
The National Strategic Plan, which is a collaborative effort between the CCAOM, NCCAOM, ACAOM, FAOMRA, NFCTCMO, AOBTA and SAR, state the following: Mission: "By 2014, acupuncture and Oriental medicine (AOM), an independent, licensed profession, will be fully accessible to the public throughout American health care.”
