ESSAY CHALLENGE

The Sokenbicha Essay Challenge is a scholarship contest for students of ACAOM approved Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine schools. The goal of the contest is to showcase the knowledge of Chinese medical practitioners with regard to botanicals and herbal medicine.

ESSAY TOPIC

The Sokenbicha Essay Contest asked students to explain how the use of acupuncture and herbal medicine can contribute to providing mainstream American healthcare.

• First place prize ($4000 scholarship) was awarded to Tiare Sheller of the National College of Natural Medicine for winning first place.
• Second place prize ($1000 scholarship) was awarded to Shannon Lawrence of the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
• Tiare's essay will be published in the summer edition of the American Acupuncturist.

RESEARCH CONTEST

• First place ($500 scholarship) was awarded to Larry Langowski & Timothy Suh from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine
• Second place ($250 scholarship) was awarded to Donald Lefeber & Biru Yang from the American College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine
• Both posters will be published in the summer edition of the American Acupuncturist.
