“Serving our Members Through the Advancement of the AOM Profession.”
AAAOM's leadership of the profession is achieved through collaborative governance with the State President's Council (SPC) and our national organizations. This holistic management form represents an exciting step for our profession. On September 21, 2009, the eight national organizations, known as the AOM-National Strategic Planning Group (AOM_NSPG) agreed on a five-year vision statement declaring that: “By 2014, acupuncture and Oriental medicine (AOM), an independent, licensed profession, will be fully accessible to the public throughout American health care.”
Formed in 1981, the AAAOM is the national professional association promoting and advancing high ethical, educational, and professional standards in the practice of acupuncture and Oriental medicine (AOM) in the U.S. AAAOM mission staement: To promote excellence and integrity in the professional practice of acupuncture and Oriental medicine in order to enhance public health and well-being.
